Job Description

Finance Business Partner

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced Commercial Finance Business Partner to join a company based in York, North Yorkshire.

The role of Commercial Business Partner will primarily partner the Chief Commercial Officer and team. The successful candidate will drive business engagement and provide robust insight into revenue and cost of sale performance, advancing understanding, lessening risk, and equipping the business to improve performance and profitability.

The Finance Business Partner will lead forecasting and budget cycles, providing valuable insight and modelling, with high-quality presentation. They will also work closely with the commercial team on new business opportunities and where appropriate, M&A opportunities.

The Commercial Finance Business Partner will be responsible for providing support and understanding of business performance to drive decision-making, including provision of timely, accurate, and relevant reporting on a weekly/monthly basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish yourself as a critical and trusted member of the management team.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed budgets, forecasts, rolling forecasts, and 3-year strategic plans in line with business deadlines.
  • Support the development of KPI reporting, enhancing both existing reporting and identifying new relevant KPIs.
  • Champion continuous improvement and standardization of processes, including implementation of best practices and automation initiatives.
  • Actively support the management accounts team, sharing knowledge and insights to enable commercial understanding across the teams.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to develop good relationships across the business.
  • ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with 3+ years PQE and experience of budgeting, forecasting, and KPI production.
  • Confident IT user with advanced Excel skills able to manage large and complex data sets and an ability to pick up new IT systems quickly.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to identify trends in data and share these with both financial and non-financial users.
