Lonza, a global leader in life sciences operating across three continents, is seeking a dedicated EMEA Payroll Specialist to join our Shared Service Centre. This role will focus on managing payroll processes for employees within Spain and France, contributing to the smooth operation of our EMEA region.

As an integral part of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while adhering to local legal requirements. Your expertise in Spanish and French payroll regulations will be crucial in navigating the complexities of these markets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute payroll processes for employees in Belgium and across the EMEA region, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Stay abreast of legislative changes impacting payroll practices in Spain and France, implementing necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with our payroll provider by collecting relevant employee information and providing clear instructions for processing.
  • Meticulously review and verify payroll data to ensure accuracy and completeness before finalization.
  • Conduct regular audits and implement robust controls to safeguard the integrity of payroll processes.
  • Manage and maintain our Time & Attendance system, ensuring its accuracy and efficiency.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding payroll inquiries, providing clear and timely responses to their concerns.
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects and audits related to payroll operations, leveraging your expertise to support the team.
  • Develop and update payroll procedure documents to ensure clarity and consistency across all processes.
Key Requirements:
  • Native or fluent proficiency in both French and Spanish is essential for this role.
  • Proven experience managing payroll for employees in Spain and France, demonstrating a deep understanding of local regulations and best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Time & Attendance systems, ensuring accurate data capture and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and administrative skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
  • A positive attitude towards continuous learning and development, embracing new technologies and processes.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, demonstrating the capacity to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies efficiently.
