Job Summary:

Nicholas Associates is seeking a highly skilled Control Systems Engineer to join our team. As a Control Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining control systems for our clients in the Oil & Gas industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implementation: Design and implement control systems, including the associated documentation, using standard software packages.
  • Engineering Surveys: Conduct engineering surveys for new installations, site upgrades, and for the removal or replacement of EC&I equipment.
  • Vendor and Contractor Management: Support delivery of operational and project electrical, control, and instrumentation engineering activities, including vendor and contractor management.
  • Installation and Commissioning: Conduct the installation and commissioning of EC&I equipment.
  • Software Engineering: Apply software engineering across EC&I systems, including TBox programming, Pilz programming, LOWIS, and network device setup.
  • Troubleshooting: Carry out fault-finding investigative techniques across EC&I systems and equipment.
  • Maintenance and Integrity: Responsible for conducting maintenance and integrity activities.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Qualified in Electrical/Electronic engineering or equivalent.
  • Travel: Must be willing to travel as part of the role.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of Oil & Gas operations and hazardous areas.
  • Documentation: Engineering documentation knowledge, including block diagrams, PFDs, SLDs, P&IDs, C&E charts, schematics, wiring drawings, data sheets, and safety-critical elements.
  • Experience: Experience and the ability to design and implement industrial-based systems.
  • Troubleshooting: Experience in troubleshooting existing installations.
  • Communication Devices: Experience of communication devices.
  • SCADA Platforms: Experience of working with various SCADA platforms, especially for the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Programming and SQL: An understanding of basic programming, scripting, and SQL database.
  • Cybersecurity: A basic understanding of cybersecurity.
