SEND Learning and Behaviour Support

We're seeking an exceptional SEN Support Assistant to join our team at SEND Recruitment. As a key member of our team, you'll play a vital role in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teaching staff and SENCO to develop and implement individualized education and behaviour plans for students with SEMH and complex needs.
- Deliver one-on-one support to students, adapting teaching materials and strategies to cater to their unique learning styles and abilities.
- Implement behaviour management strategies aligned with the school's behaviour policy.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to establish a cohesive and inclusive learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, providing regular updates on student progress and offering guidance on continued support at home.
- Contribute to the preparation of reports for annual reviews and meetings with parents and external agencies.
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Previous experience working in a similar role within a SEND school or comparable setting.
- Understanding of SEMH and complex needs in children.
- Ability to remain composed under pressure and effectively manage challenging behaviour.
- Patient and empathetic approach when working with students with diverse needs.
This full-time, temp to perm position offers:
- On-site parking
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- A competitive salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum.
Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or special education are advantageous.
A driving licence is desirable.
