Job Title: Peripatetic Specialist Teacher

We are seeking a qualified Specialist Teacher of the Deaf to join our Deaf / Hearing Inclusion Team.

Main Responsibilities

You will:

  1. Support Deaf children and young people with hearing loss and their families in various settings.
  2. Support the educational development and inclusion of children referred to the team.
The Ideal Candidate

You will have:

  1. Experience of multi-agency working and confidence in advising and supporting children.
  2. Highly organized and effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  3. Ability to use specialist technology associated with educational audiology.
  4. Ability to travel around the county supporting schools and children.
  5. Qualification in British Sign Language or commitment to self-funding to BSL Level 2.

We may also consider an outstanding teacher with experience in working with pupils with SEND, who has recent classroom teaching experience and is willing to commit to the 2-year mandatory qualification - Qualified Teacher of the Deaf (QTOD).
