About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Business Partner to join our team at Network Rail. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide financial advice and guidance to senior budget holders to ensure they have a clear understanding of their financial position.
  • Manage corporate governance throughout the cost centres, conducting deep dives and reviewing compliance with financial regulations.
  • Deliver expert and accurate business review information and reporting, highlighting any significant issues with financial and other business results.
  • Engage and influence senior members of the team to help them understand their financial position and use professional expertise to guide initiatives to improve business performance.
  • Build bottom-up, detailed plans to manage and develop the production of business plans and budgets.
  • Identify and proactively manage commercial risks, including the financial suitability of new customers or suppliers.
  • Manage the performance of central accounting functions to deliver for the cost centre area.
  • Collate, investigate, and make recommendations for investment appraisals and business case analysis.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of accounting practices and financial regulations. You will also need to be able to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders and provide expert advice to senior budget holders.
