Job Title: Overhead Crane Operator

We are recruiting on behalf of a busy engineering-based company in Oldbury for an FLT/Overhead Crane Operative to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work in a fast-paced engineering environment, ensuring the smooth operation of production processes.
  • Inspect goods received against delivery notes for accuracy and report any faults or damages.
  • Load and unload vehicles, maintaining a safe and efficient workflow.
  • Assist with the movement of sheet metal around the factory, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Store items in designated sections, ensuring accurate inventory management.
  • Pack and assemble goods in boxes, meeting quality and productivity standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized working environment in the yard and shop floor.
  • Record all stock movements accurately, ensuring seamless inventory control.
  • Operate a forklift truck counterbalance, adhering to safety guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in engineering or sheet metal environments is essential.
  • Flexibility with start times is required, with a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Laser operating experience is advantageous, but not mandatory.
  • A valid FLT Counterbalance license is essential for this role.
  • Goods in/out experience is necessary, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills are required for effective liaison with other departments.
  • The ability to work independently, prioritizing tasks and managing workload effectively.
  • Attention to detail is crucial, with a focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Comfortable with manual handling, adhering to safety guidelines.
