Job Title: Accident and Emergency Nurse

At NHS Blood and Transplant, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accident and Emergency Nurse to lead our team of Healthcare Assistants and Donor Care Supervisors. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of exceptional care to our donors while making critical decisions that impact donor safety and the overall quality of our service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of Healthcare Assistants and Donor Care Supervisors, fostering a positive working environment and providing ongoing training and support.
  • Use your clinical expertise and judgment to assess potential donors, considering their medical history, current health status, and other relevant factors.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve team performance, addressing any issues or concerns that arise.
  • Maintain your professional development to help us deliver improvements to our practice.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure the delivery of high-quality care, adhering to regulatory requirements and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse with current Nursing and Midwifery Council registration.
  • Experience of supporting the professional development of others.
  • Understanding of clinical audit and research.
  • Awareness of patient safety initiatives and risk management.
  • Experience of working with Information Technology, including hand-held devices and Microsoft Office packages.
