About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Data Analyst to join our team at the Health Research Authority (HRA). As a Business Data Analyst, you will play a key role in delivering programme business outcomes by identifying, collecting, and aggregating data requirements from stakeholders to summarise and present them for software development.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure all data structures are analysed, documented, and aligned with business requirements
  • Collaborate with business analysts, product managers, and data architects to understand data needs and translate them into requirements
  • Own the main stakeholder relationships related to your discipline
  • Analyse, understand, and define a data problem or opportunity
  • Undertake research and analysis to understand how a business area works, considering the people, organisation, processes, information, data, and technology
  • Identify areas for improvement, explore feasible options, and define data-driven ways of implementing business solutions
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with industry standards
  • Facilitate the alignment of data models with business process requirements

Requirements
  • Professional qualification at master's level in an information-related discipline or equivalent industry experience
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Understanding of Microsoft development software
  • Understanding of data analytics software such as Power BI
