Fire Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Engineer to join our team at Penguin Recruitment Ltd. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects in various sectors, including commercial, industrial, nuclear, and more.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop fire strategies and performance-based designs, supported by fire and evacuation modelling, risk analysis, and cost benefit analysis
  • Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure work is compliant with client expectations and contractual obligations
  • Produce fire safety engineering reports and review design information such as drawings and documents
  • Resolve fire engineering concerns by applying accepted principles, codes, and standards
  • Support junior members of staff and provide guidance on fire safety best practices
Requirements:
  • Degree in Engineering (Fire, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, or similar)
  • Experience of providing fire safety advice in the nuclear sector and in a conventional environment
  • Experience of implementing the principle of fire science to real projects
  • Experience of management of fire safety on construction sites
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Computer Literate E.g. Blue Beam, Microsoft, CAD, Smoke modelling software
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to travel within UK and Overseas
  • Knowledge of legislation, regulations, national and international standards
  • Knowledge of Fire Water Network and Fire water pumping systems including fire water pumps, storage tanks etc.
  • NEBOSH Fire Certificate (Desirable)
