About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lloyds Construction Underwriting Manager to join our team at Aviva. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of construction risks and developing strategies to drive growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of construction risks, including international and UK risks, within the Lloyds marketplace.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive growth and profitability, including portfolio steering and business acquisition channels.
  • Exercise key responsibilities for the training and development of junior underwriting staff.
  • Deliver thought leadership in the marketplace through market engagement and interaction with producers, clients, and Aviva's peers.
Requirements
  • Proven track record in underwriting both international and UK risks within the Lloyds marketplace.
  • Strong experience and credentials in technical underwriting and pricing of construction risks.
  • Strong reputation in a market-facing role, with effective management, communication, and negotiation with brokers and clients.
  • Experience navigating a large insurance organization, including interaction with Risk Engineers, Claims Specialists, Client and Broker Relationship Managers, Operations and Administration, and Finance.
