Job Title: Transport Clerk

We are seeking an experienced Transport Clerk to join our team in Grimsby. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and manage day-to-day transport operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage vehicle and driver compliance, ensuring all aspects of fleet safety and legality are maintained.
  • Carry out driver performance management, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Liaise with other company depots and delivery points to ensure seamless logistics operations.
  • Assign drivers and vehicles using our transport planning system, ensuring optimal routes and schedules.
  • Debrief drivers after each delivery, addressing any issues or concerns.
  • Handle delivery rejections, temperature control issues, and product damage.
  • Create goods return notifications for all delivery issues.
  • Manage vehicle and trailer breakdowns, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Allocate stock and manage inventory levels.
  • Generate UN invoices and status reports.
  • Manage diary departures and arrivals.
  • Scan, index, and file documents.
  • Process invoices and generate reports.
Requirements:
  • Strong administration experience, preferably in a transport-based role.
  • Excellent IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft packages.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, meeting stringent KPIs and deadlines.
  • Flexibility to cover shifts, including nights and weekends, as needed.
  • Commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
