About the Role:

This is a specialist role that requires a deep understanding of autistic thinking and learning. You will work with students to develop learning strategies that will improve their study skills and enable them to become independent learners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with students to develop Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) to support their learning needs
  • Act as a facilitator to help students develop learning strategies that will improve their study skills
  • Provide one-to-one support to students with Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC) to help them overcome barriers to learning
  • Use assistive technologies and related AT study skills strategies to support students' learning
  • Work collaboratively with students, staff, and other professionals to ensure that students receive the support they need
Requirements:
  • Degree in a relevant field
  • Teaching qualification
  • Experience of working with students with ASC on a one-to-one basis
  • Knowledge of assistive technologies and related AT study skills strategies
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to identify different strategies that enable students to build on their learning strengths
