About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Community Support Specialist to join our team at Homeless Link in East London. This is an exciting opportunity to work with vulnerable individuals, promoting social and life skills through engaging activities.

Main Responsibilities:
  • To design and deliver activities that cater to the diverse needs of residents, working in close collaboration with Key Workers.
  • To establish and maintain relationships with local community partners, identifying opportunities for mutual benefit and enhancing services for residents.
  • To create promotional materials and disseminate information about available activities, encouraging resident participation and engagement.
  • To contribute to team meetings, resident gatherings and feedback sessions, sharing knowledge and expertise to drive positive change.
Essential Skills:
  • Ability to understand and address the complexities of homelessness, mental health and addiction.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective communication and relationship-building with residents and staff.
  • Capacity to work under pressure, managing competing priorities and maintaining a calm demeanor in challenging situations.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety protocols, ensuring a safe environment for residents and staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, facilitating clear and concise communication.
