Job Description: Community Paediatric Speech Specialist

Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a skilled Community Paediatric Speech Specialist to join its team. The successful candidate will deliver specialist speech and language therapy services to children with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • To assess, develop, and implement Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapy provision for children with SLCN, including additional specialist intervention and support to children with one or more specific clinical areas
  • To deal with initial complaints sensitively, avoiding escalation where possible
  • To contribute to the design and implementation of measures to monitor and develop services, meeting high-quality standards of care as set out in national and local policy
  • To adhere to relevant procedures, including Safeguarding Children, SEN procedures, and other legal frameworks
Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent and Licence to Practice - Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
  • Advanced knowledge of assessments and interventions for education, including an ability to compare and contrast relative benefits to individual children
  • Knowledge of religious, cultural, and linguistic issues impacting caseload management, as well as typical child development milestones for Speech & Language
Location

This role is based in Central London, with regular travel across the boroughs to provide community-based services.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £45,000-£65,000 per annum, depending on experience, with excellent benefits including flexible working options, comprehensive induction, and opportunities for training and development.
