Job Title: Maintenance Planner

Location: Gloucester

JOB PURPOSE

You will be reporting to the Maintenance Manager. The purpose of your role is to support the Maintenance Manager and the other Operational Leaders in the effective planning of maintenance activities across the Sourcing Unit, ensuring compliance to all legal and mandatory engineering requirements. You will provide detailed analysis on maintenance performance, highlighting gaps and areas for improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintenance

  • Support the Maintenance Manager in identifying statutory activities to be carried out within the department.
  • Manage the maintenance planning systems and processes for maintenance slots, overhauls, and engineering workshops.
  • Lead the maintenance planning for your assigned area, ensuring tasks can occur without conflicting requirements.
  • Ensure that learnings from maintenance activities and breakdowns are fed back into the maintenance schedules and equipment ledgers.
  • Review Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Activity Indicators (KAIs) for maintenance, and input into the improvement plan.
  • Be involved in the equipment ranking process and apply criteria to prioritize maintenance.
  • Manage assigned maintenance contracts and subcontractor activities.
  • Ownership of the Emergency Work Order (EWO) system, including trending and analysing EWO data.

Safety

  • Proactive in machine and people safety.
  • Be an Advocate for safety and set the standard for the Maintenance Engineers and Subcontractors.

Policies and Standards

  • Ensure site compliance with all Quality, Environmental Standards, Site Rules, and Regulations.
  • Deliver the site factory services at 100% service levels while remaining within operational standards.

Cost

  • Specify and order spares as appropriate, adhering to local authorities and recording processes.

General

  • Ensure all documentation and manuals are kept up to date and stored in an organised manner.
  • Record and review all engineering issues that occur on the shift, providing a detailed report.

Reviews

  • Regular review with Management, including safety, performance reviews, and breakdown analysis.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

You will be flexible to fulfil business needs.

Hours of work are Mon – Fri 8-hour shifts.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship and have applied their mechanical and electrical skills in their current role.
  • Ideally Mechanical and Electrical Multiskilled.

ALL ABOUT YOU

ESSENTIAL:

  • You will have previous experience with Maintenance Management within a manufacturing setting.
  • Condition based monitoring: e.g. Thermography, vibration analysis etc.
  • Failure Mode Effect Analysis.
  • Predictive techniques: e.g. oils analysis, historical data from CMMS systems to predict component lifecycle.
  • Asset management.
  • Experienced in CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Flexible Attitude to work.
  • Coaching/Influencing skills.
