Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Analyst Trainee to join our Finance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the financial team in reporting monthly management and financial accounts in a timely fashion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the financial team in preparing and reviewing financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and year-end accounts.
  • Undertake ad-hoc financial projects to identify and report trends and monitor performance of the business using Excel and Power BI.
  • Support the Operations Accountant in the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Support the Financial Controller in the preparation of year-end accounts.
  • Undertake balance sheet reconciliations and maintain supporting files and documentation.
  • Liaise with the management team on financial performance of selected customers and provide income statements, variance analysis, and commentary.
  • Ensure that balance sheet reconciliations are completed before closure of the accounts.
  • Investigate cost and variances and seek guidance on accounting treatment.
  • Maintain the capital expenditure file and Fixed Asset Register.
  • Provide back-up and cover to other departmental staff, including bank reconciliations, expenses processing, petty cash, etc.
Requirements
  • Basic understanding of bookkeeping and financial processes.
  • Basic understanding of Power BI (not essential).
  • ACCA/CIMA part-qualified.
