Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Machine Operator Apprentice to join our Production Team at Veetee. As an apprentice, you will have the opportunity to gain a level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative qualification while providing support to our machine operators with machine-specific functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform pre-checks and cleaning tasks of the production line to ensure optimal performance.
  • Set machines to production recipes and prepare raw materials for production.
  • Replenish packaging and films to the production line during the shift, including stacking trays.
  • Set up batches of production as per the production plan and maintain the hygiene of equipment.
  • Complete documentation throughout the shift and record downtime to help minimize it.
  • Assist in resolving machine stoppages and achieve OEE and waste targets.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team and maintain health and safety standards.
  • Contribute to and help implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, safety, and waste reduction.
  • Assist in the training of other team members and identify own training needs.

Requirements:

  • 3 GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and be a self-starter.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.
  • Keeps calm under pressure and is highly motivated with a strong willingness to learn.
  • Punctual and reliable with a keen interest in machine operations.

Shift Pattern:

  • 4 On 4 Off (Days) - 6am to 6pm.
  • 4 On 4 Off (Nights) - 6pm to 6am.
