Job Overview

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of £37,080 per annum (inclusive of shift allowance), as well as a comprehensive benefits package including pension and free parking.

Job Description

This challenging role will involve ensuring the highest standards of food safety across all aspects of production. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance principles, with a deep understanding of HACCP, GMP, and auditing procedures. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining and implementing quality control systems, policies, and procedures in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Providing training and guidance to production operatives to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.
  • Conducting microbiological testing on finished products, raw materials, and packaging.
  • Maintaining and calibrating testing equipment.
  • Preparing samples and conducting allergen testing.
  • Carrying out internal and supplier quality audits to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Investigating customer complaints, non-conformance, and incidents of food contamination, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, applicants should possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a quality assurance role within the food industry.
  • A Level 3 qualification in Food Safety.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate data effectively.
  • Excellent communication and training skills.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance principles, including HACCP, pre-requisites, GMP, auditing, traceability, and NCRs.
