Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Automation & Service Engineer to join our team at Automation Experts. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for providing reactive site support to our customers' automation control applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 24/7 reactive callout support to customers across the UK and overseas.
- Workshop testing of engineered automation control systems.
- Investigate and repair components, including PLCs, VSDs, robots, and SCADA systems.
- Accurately mark up project schematics and documentation.
- Assist in the development and delivery of bespoke training courses to meet customer requirements.
- Support and train colleagues where possible.
- Assist other engineers with on-site commissioning and service of engineered automation control systems.
- Provide technical support to sales teams, including site audits and quotations.
- Contribute to the development of the service department to increase its capabilities and competitiveness.
Requirements:
- Essential knowledge and experience of variable speed and servo drives, including Siemens, ABB, Danfoss, Rockwell, and CT.
- PLC experience with Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi, and Omron products and software.
- Robot experience is an advantage.
- Ability to read electrical schematic diagrams and PLC software listings.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers, contractors, and commissioning engineers.
- Flexibility to travel and stay away from home for periods of time.
- A great team player with the ability to work independently.
