About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Science Teacher to join our team at a well-established mainstream secondary school in the Durham area. As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons to secondary school students across Key Stages 3-4, aligned with the national curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Science instruction to secondary school students
  • Develop and implement effective lesson plans
  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities
  • Employ a range of teaching methods to facilitate pupil learning

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS)
  • PGCE in Science or related subject from a recognized provider
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for a new one
  • Experience teaching science in a UK secondary school setting

Person Specification:

  • Must be 21 and over
  • Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS)
  • PGCE in Science or related subject from a recognized provider
  • You must have an enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to apply for a new one
  • Have experience teaching science in a UK secondary school setting
  • Be able to plan and deliver engaging KS3 and KS4 Science lessons across ability ranges
  • Have excellent behaviour management and classroom control skills
