Job Description

This Career Start GP role offers a unique opportunity for GPs to establish themselves in their career, gaining experience and skills relevant to General Practice work. The role includes working in a host practice, developing both general and specific skills, and attending practice meetings to gain further understanding of general practice as a business.

A Clinical Supervisor will be appointed in your specialist area to help determine your specific educational objectives. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to be matched with a patient safety fellow, learning more about quality and safety, and joining the rapidly growing network with opportunities for regional, national, and international development in this area.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should be educated to MBChB or equivalent, fully registered with the GMC with a license to practice, and hold a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent. Excellent communication skills, counseling, and feedback skills are also essential, as well as the ability to travel to various locations.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is £60,000-£80,000 per annum, depending on experience and location. Additional benefits include access to postgraduate training and development opportunities, protected development sessions, and the chance to work within an expanded multi-disciplinary team delivering new models of care.

The specialty areas available with this post are Acute Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Medical Education, Medicine For The Elderly, Gender Services, Children's Community Mental Health, Adult Mental Health, and Urgent and Unscheduled Care (OOH). Part-time posts will have adjusted sessions accordingly.
