About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our Pattern Shop team at Williams Racing. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for setting up and machining patterns and carbon components to a drawing, utilizing 5 axis machining and self-inspection techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out machining operations as directed by supervision, ensuring timely completion and optimal machine performance.
  • Communicate effectively with TPP to resolve problems and improve job quality and runtime.
  • Liaise with fellow machinists and other departments to establish best practices and ensure smooth production.
  • Perform thorough inspections during machining to ensure work meets quality standards.
  • Collect and maintain accurate work order and shop floor data.
  • Ensure seamless handovers to other shifts, minimizing production downtime.
  • Contribute ideas for more efficient production methods to supervision and management.
  • Maintain tooling to correct specifications and store accordingly.
  • Follow program job packs and predefined information.
Requirements
  • Recognized apprenticeship or relevant experience in a similar environment.
  • Proficiency in using 3 and 5 axis machine centers.
  • Knowledge of various materials and their properties.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Attention to detail and precision.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with the pattern shop team.
