We are seeking a highly skilled Configuration Engineer to join our team in Luton or Edinburgh. As a key member of our Integrated Project Teams (IPTs), you will play a fundamental role in the execution of our Business and drive technical innovation across advanced tactical sensing, data fusion, communications, machine learning, and defensive aids systems.

About the Role

This is a 6-month opportunity at various levels (Engineer/Senior Engineer/Principal Engineer) requiring experience in Software and Model Based Configuration Management. You will be responsible for discharging the five key configuration activities into IPTs across all lifecycle phases of a Programme.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Configuration Management in accordance with DEF STAN 05-57 and excellent practical knowledge of the five key elements: Configuration Management Planning, Identification, Change Control, Status Accounting, and Verification/Audit.

  1. Drive proactive C&DM approach into IPTs
  2. Support Head of C&DM in encouraging new ideas and solutions
  3. Resolve C&DM issues within IPTs
  4. Provide C&DM Basis of Estimate (BoE)
  5. Build and manage customer and supplier relationships
Requirements

A good understanding of software configuration management at release points, broad knowledge of configuration control during software development, and experience in providing C&DM input to design reviews and certification are essential. Familiarity with Product Management Tools, particularly Teamcenter version 13 and SAP, is also required.

We offer a competitive salary range of £55,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with opportunities for professional growth and development in the Aerospace and Defence sector.
