Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform planned maintenance on vacuum tube lifting systems across various industries.
  2. Install Palamatic equipment on-site, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
  3. Respond to breakdowns and provide prompt repair services to minimize downtime.
  4. Upgrade installations and perform subsequent maintenance to ensure equipment remains in top condition.
  5. Train operators on the safe and efficient use of Palamatic equipment.
  6. Manage van stock parts, van service, and maintenance schedules to ensure optimal equipment availability.
  7. Complete written reports in a timely manner, providing detailed insights into equipment performance and any issues encountered.
  8. Provide feedback to Palamatic on design and manufacturing improvements to enhance equipment quality and performance.
  9. Collaborate with colleagues on-site to share knowledge and expertise, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of equipment operation and maintenance.
  10. Assist with the offloading and loading of goods as required, demonstrating a commitment to efficient logistics and supply chain management.
  11. Maintain accurate records of timesheets and expenses claims, ensuring transparency and accountability in all financial transactions.
  12. Manage tools on-site, ensuring they are properly maintained and readily available for use.
Required Skills
  1. Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar role, with a strong background in mechanical systems and equipment maintenance.
  2. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including pneumatics, and the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
  3. Minimum NVQ level 3 or time-served equivalent, with relevant previous experience in a similar role.
  4. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  5. Excellent communication skills and a customer-oriented approach, with a focus on providing exceptional service and support.
Nice-to-Have Skills
  1. Fork Lift Truck certificate, demonstrating proficiency in operating heavy machinery.
  2. National Safety Passport, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  3. IPAF and PASMA certifications, highlighting expertise in working at heights and with powered access equipment.
  4. LOLER training, demonstrating knowledge of lifting equipment regulations and best practices.
