Job Summary:

As a Field Service Engineer with Finning, you will be responsible for responding to customer field repair and service requests, diagnosing and providing comprehensive details about the nature of the problem to the customer and Finning. You will work within Finning's industry-leading field service department, providing on-site diagnostic and repair capabilities for Caterpillar products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend customer sites to diagnose and repair mechanical or electrical issues in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
  • Utilize dealer software and repair techniques to resolve customer issues.
  • Provide estimates of arrival time at customer sites based on job instructions from Branch.
  • Identify parts required for repairs and requisition them, determining expected delivery times for service re-visits.
  • Undertake repair and service work on machines, removing and despatching components for specialist attention and re-installing original or replacement parts.

Requirements:
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to work in high-pressured situations and to tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge in the use of field-based diagnosis tools and equipment essential.
  • Heavy Earth Moving equipment operating knowledge.
  • LDV driving licence.
  • Apprentice trained engineer or formally trained (NVQ Level 3 preferred) with experience of a variety of construction and static machines.
