Job Overview:

Rugby Borough Council is seeking a skilled professional to oversee the efficient operation of our vehicle workshop at the Work Services Unit, Hunters Lane. This temporary role is critical to ensuring the high-quality servicing, maintenance, and repair of all Council-owned vehicles and plant, in line with manufacturers' specifications and VOSA regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Workshop Management: Day-to-day management of the vehicle workshop and staff, ensuring all work meets appropriate standards and service targets.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee and participate in the repair, maintenance, and servicing of a diverse fleet of vehicles, ensuring compliance with VOSA regulations and preparation for MOTs.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain up-to-date servicing and maintenance records in accordance with the Operator's Licence requirements.
  • Business Development: Assist in the planning and implementation of a Business Development Plan to offer external services and improve workshop efficiency.
