Job Title: Vehicle Workshop Foreman/Manager

Triumph Consultants Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vehicle Workshop Foreman/Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Works Services Unit, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective operation of our vehicle workshop, ensuring that all Council-owned vehicles and plant are serviced, maintained, and repaired to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the vehicle workshop, including the supervision of staff and the coordination of maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure that all vehicle servicing records are updated as per VOSA regulations and that all works are carried out to the appropriate standards.
  • Collaborate with the Waste & Transport Manager to develop and implement effective maintenance strategies for the fleet.
  • Repair, maintain, and service vehicles, plant, and machinery of all varieties, sizes, and configurations as required.
  • Provide advice and guidance to the Waste & Transport Manager on vehicle purchase and maintenance.
  • Ensure that all transport maintenance records are kept up to date in accordance with the requirements of the Operators Licence.
  • Advise on best methods of repair and determine repair times in consultation with the Waste & Transport Manager and vehicle manufacturers' information.
  • Ensure service and repair targets are met.
Requirements:
  • LGV Class II Driving Licence.
  • Experience of working with heavy vehicles, plant, and commercial vehicles.
  • Experience of working within a mixed fleet environment.
  • Ability to work effectively across service areas.
