About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Nursery Cook/Chef to join our team at Smart Start Nursery School. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious meals for our children, ensuring the highest standards of food safety and hygiene, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook nutritious meals for children with specific dietary needs
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations, including COSHH and Ofsted guidelines
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including stock rotation and inventory management
  • Deputise for the Cook in their absence, with the expectation of taking on full-time responsibilities when required
Requirements
  • Level 2 Food and Hygiene certification
  • Minimum 6 months experience in a similar role
  • Understanding of Health and Safety regulations and COSHH
  • Ability to reflect the Storal values of responsibility, openness, and teamwork
