About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Therapy Rehabilitation Specialist to join our team, working with clients across Birmingham and surrounding areas. As a Therapy Rehabilitation Specialist, you will be responsible for providing a clinical opinion on functional capacity, job demands, and rehabilitation programmes for individual employees with complex health problems or disabilities.

This role offers a great work-life balance, with the opportunity to work remotely twice a week on average. You will be working with a variety of clients, including blue-collar, white-collar, and government organisations, and will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To use clinical expertise to advise on functional capacity, job demands, ergonomics, and rehabilitation programmes for employees with complex health problems or disabilities.
  • To provide expert advice/consultancy on OT issues/products within the organisation and to customers.
  • To contribute to the development of Optima's Occupational Therapy Service both within the region and nationally.

Requirements:

  • Full registration with the Health and Care Professions Council as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Eligible for membership of British Association of Occupational Therapists.
  • BSc in Occupational Therapy.
  • Professional knowledge acquired through degree, functional capacity evaluation, workplace ergonomics, objective/standardised evaluation.
  • A knowledge of clinical governance and risk management.
  • Knowledge of employment law and the Industrial Tribunal process.
  • Strong organisational and planning ability with proven track record of being able to manage workload.
  • Willingness to travel to different work locations within a defined regional area.
