The Role:

We are seeking a Product Development Specialist to join our Retail Solutions Centre team. As a key member, you will play a crucial role in supporting our retailers in product sample approval and critical path to product launch.

Main duties:

  • Take ownership of relevant areas of responsibility to meet business needs and demonstrate total commitment.
  • Ensure Critical Path deadlines are maintained through supplier monitoring and issue reminders when necessary.
  • Check artwork against product information and provide feedback to suppliers and retailers on approval or rejection comments.
  • Review and approve technical specifications and relevant documents.
  • Ensure products are legally compliant and fit for purpose.
  • Maintain product status on the critical path and keep detailed, accurate records of all communications.
  • Build positive and effective relationships with buying teams and suppliers.
  • Attend retailer meetings as required, either face-to-face or virtually using Teams.
  • Perform other reasonable tasks to support the business.
Qualifications:

We are looking for an individual with:

  • A degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, such as chemistry or biochemistry.
  • Proven experience and understanding of product sealing procedures, including product fit for use.
  • Understanding of critical path management and working with retailers, brands, buying and sourcing offices, vendors, suppliers, and factories.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and production experience in areas such as Candles/Diffusers, cosmetics, or detergents.
  • A self-motivated, resilient, and positive approach to working with all stakeholders.
  • Team spirit is essential, and we require a pro-active, organised, and resilient individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Able to deliver quality in all our work, with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail, while meeting given priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to travel to client sites across the country (pool car provided if located in Northampton).
