Business Development Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Manager to join our team at The Selection Partnership Ltd. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving business growth and developing long-term relationships with major and potential customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Business Development: Identify and develop new business opportunities from target customers and industry sectors, and maintain existing relationships to drive sales growth.
- Sales Strategy: Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets, and regularly review allocated accounts to identify opportunities for growth.
- Market Intelligence: Gather and disseminate relevant market information to inform sales strategies and tactics, and stay up-to-date with competitor activities and market trends.
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key influencers and decision-makers at allocated accounts, and build trust and confidence with customers.
- Stock Management: Liaise closely with contract customers to control stock levels within agreed limits, and agree call-off orders in writing with an end date for final delivery.
Requirements:
- Selling Skills: Proven sales skills, including the ability to actively listen, be innovative in approach, and adopt a variety of negotiating tactics to progress sales situations.
- Presentation Skills: Confident and well-presented, with the ability to compose and deliver professional presentations to a range of audiences.
- Negotiation Skills: Able to prepare well for negotiations, calculate required terms, and skilfully utilise trade-offs to satisfy desired results.
- Communication Skills: Speaks confidently and clearly to gain respect, and written communication projects a highly professional image.
- Planning and Organising Skills: Prioritises and orchestrates sales activity, maintains effective systems, and plans to achieve best return from resources employed.
- Steel Products Knowledge: Knowledge of steel products and market trends, including price trends, lead times, and competitor activities.
