About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Marine Underwriter to join our team at Aviva Marine. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will play a crucial role in the continued success and growth of our Marine business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure allocated business is in line with plan requirements for all Marine business written and renewed.
  • Deliver volume, quality, and profitability of growth opportunities to the Line of Business, enabling them to hit their plan targets.
  • Build relationships with brokers and customers, both internally and externally, as necessary.
  • Perform and develop risks assigned to you, in line with plan requirements, including metrics for new and renewal targets for GWP, NWP, Loss Ratio, Expense Ratio, and Combined Ratio, and rate achievement.
  • Exercise case-by-case judgment to ensure overall strategy and governance targets are complied with.
Requirements
  • Experience in underwriting and handling cargo and freight liability business.
  • Proven record of underwriting a portfolio, including understanding the metrics required to monitor such a portfolio.
  • Well-regarded by brokers, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Results-oriented.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize effectively.
