About the Role:
We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Strategic Underwriter to join our team at Ageas. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing underwriting strategies to ensure our capabilities and product offering remain relevant in the UK insurance market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and develop new underwriting concepts to maximise account profitability.
- Work closely with portfolio underwriting teams, risk and market pricing teams, and external partners to ensure strategic deliverables are met.
- Lead specific 'Strategic Underwriting Project' work streams, overseeing the development and implementation of new initiatives, product changes, and new products.
Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience of working in a Personal Lines Underwriting environment.
- A sound understanding of underwriting principles and experience of a wide range of technical issues.
- Awareness of the market and legal/industry developments.
- Strong numeracy skills with an ability to analyse, interpret, and identify trends within large volumes of data.
- Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
