Financial Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for providing financial leadership and guidance to our clients in the charity sector.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and motivate a small accounting team to ensure effective financial management and control.
- Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and control checks to enable effective resource management.
- Work with senior management and budget holders to identify opportunities and risks based on financial management.
- Analyse business performance and financial information to support business plans and commercial oversight.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting routines, including transactional finance duties such as purchase ledger, sales ledger, income processing, VAT, gift aid, and payroll/pension processes.
- Prepare management accounts, budget setting, cash flow modelling, variance analysis, and balance sheet reviews.
- Support the preparation of the organisation's accounts for audit and support the Financial Director with process and system improvements.
- Experience in a similar position, ideally ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA part-qualified/qualified or qualified by experience.
- Strong IT skills, with proven experience of developing processes/systems.
- Strong communication skills to partner both internally and externally with finance and non-financial management.
- Key analytical skills and commercial awareness.
- Knowledge of charity law or charity accounting rules with familiarity of Sage 50 accounts would be advantageous but not essential.
- A competitive salary between £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
