The Association of British Orchestras is a leading organisation in the UK music scene, with a rich history of promoting excellence in orchestral performance. As an Academic Board Member - Strategic Music Governance, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our association and contributing to the growth of our musical programmes.
Based on industry standards and location, we estimate the salary for this position to be £60,000-£80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
About the Role- We are seeking a highly motivated individual with expertise in strategic governance and academic leadership to join our Academic Board.
- As a member of the board, you will contribute to the development of our musical programmes, provide guidance on educational initiatives, and support our mission to promote excellence in orchestral performance.
In addition to your academic qualifications, you should have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of the UK music scene, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of our musical programmes, including curriculum design and implementation.
- Provide guidance on educational initiatives, such as workshops, masterclasses, and concerts.
- Support our mission to promote excellence in orchestral performance through strategic governance and academic leadership.
- Collaborate with our team to develop and implement strategies for growth and development.
Requirements:
- PhD or equivalent in a relevant field (music education, arts management, etc.).
- Proven track record of academic leadership and strategic governance experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A strong understanding of the UK music scene and its trends.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team and adapt to changing priorities.
