Family Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Support Specialist to join our team at Polaris Community. As a Family Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing intensive support to children and young people, and their families, to help them achieve positive changes and stability.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver an Evidenced Therapeutic Program: Provide a structured and evidence-based therapeutic program to parents and carers in the community to support placement stability and promote positive outcomes.
- Build Strong Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with children, young people, and their families, including face-to-face and telephone contact, to understand their needs and provide tailored support.
- Collaborate with Professionals: Work closely with other professionals and agencies to achieve optimal outcomes for children, young people, and their families, ensuring services are 'joined up' in approach.
- Ensure Equality and Diversity: Ensure that the service delivered promotes equality, diversity, and rights for all individuals associated with the service.
- Adhere to Operating Manual: Deliver the service according to the required model as laid out in the Operating Manual.
- Experience in Home Visiting: Have experience of working with children and families in a home visiting role and/or delivering in a parenting program.
- Ability to Work in a Team: Be able to work as part of a professional network, including foster carers, social workers, and schools, to advocate for the families' wishes and feelings.
- Commitment to Learning: Be willing to engage in learning and development to support your role as a Family Support Specialist to deliver an evidenced-based therapeutic program.
- Geographic Location: Be based in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, or Derby to support community visits in the area.
- Driving License: Have a full driving license with unrestricted access to your own car.
