Family Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Support Specialist to join our team at Polaris Community. As a Family Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing intensive support to children and young people, and their families, to help them achieve positive changes and stability.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver an Evidenced Therapeutic Programme: Provide a structured and evidence-based therapeutic programme to parents and carers in the community to support placement stability and promote positive outcomes.
- Build Strong Relationships: Listen and respond sensitively and appropriately to children, young people, and their parents or carers to build trust and establish strong relationships.
- Regular Contact and Communication: Maintain regular contact with the child or young person, including face-to-face and telephone contact, to ensure their needs are met and progress is monitored.
- Equality, Diversity, and Rights: Ensure that the service delivered promotes equality, diversity, and rights for all individuals associated with the service.
- Collaboration and Partnership: Liaise and work with other professionals and agencies to achieve optimal outcomes for children, young people, and their families, ensuring services are 'joined up' in approach.
- Experience and Skills: Experience of working with children and families in a home visiting role and/or delivering in a parenting programme. Ability to work as part of a professional network, including foster carers, social workers, and schools.
- Education and Training: Willingness to engage in learning and development to support your role as a Family Support Specialist and deliver an evidenced-based therapeutic programme.
- Location and Travel: Based in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, or Derby, with the ability to travel to other locations as required.
- Driving Licence and Vehicle: Possession of a full driving licence with unrestricted access to your own car.
