About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Development Community Staff Nurse to join our team. As a Development Community Staff Nurse, you will play a key role in supporting families in various community settings, following the guidance of the Health Visitor. You will be responsible for planning and delivering health activities for children and families, including group sessions, child health clinics, developmental reviews, and one-on-one support.

You will have the opportunity to work with health visitors to deliver high-quality care as part of the Healthy Child Programme. You will also support the Community Nursery Nurses and shadow Health Visitors to gain insight into the role.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in public health and health education. You will have the chance to work with a range of IT systems and databases, and to apply your knowledge of the Health Visiting service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support families in various community settings, following the guidance of the Health Visitor.
  • Plan and deliver health activities for children and families, including group sessions, child health clinics, developmental reviews, and one-on-one support.
  • Help families using the Solihull Approach for behaviour management, parenting skills, and care programs.
  • Promote breastfeeding and strengthen parent-infant relationships by applying UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative standards.
  • Collaborate with other agencies to provide seamless support for children and families, under the direction of the Health Visitor.
Requirements
  • Being a Registered Nurse active on the NMC register.
