Job Title: Software Asset Management Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Asset Management Engineer to join our team. As a Software Asset Management Engineer, you will play a critical role in managing and maintaining software configuration management items, ensuring that all data is accurate and up-to-date.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify software tags and create rules to track and trace software deployed across the estate.
  • Work with teams across the Business to review and upgrade deployed software, consolidating duplicated software functionalities.
  • Produce accurate reports and escalate identified compliance risks and issues to Senior Management.
  • Collaborate with the Information Security department to resolve vulnerability, risks, and issues identified.
  • Manage the license agreement repository and data within the system through regular auditing and verification.
  • Onboard new vendors and licenses correctly and reconcile inventory.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the third-party download process to ensure key stakeholders approve the onboarding of new software requests.
  • Stay up-to-date with vendor roadmaps, emerging software, technology, and software risks.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a software packaging and distribution role, with an understanding of software asset management principles and requirements.
  • Ability to use software asset management toolsets and principles, including SNOW Licence Manager, Nessus, and Truesight.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to analyze large amounts of data, including Excel formulae such as vlookup and pivot tables.
  • Strong understanding of technology and tools, including Active Directory, software distribution, asset inventory, and configuration management tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects with independent deadlines and deliverables.
  • Team player with a can-do attitude and the ability to work alone with minimal supervision.
  • Strong process management, document, and control skills, utilizing ITIL v3 foundation.
