About the Role

Priory Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ward Manager to join our team at the Bristol Priory Hospital.

Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee the nursing staff rota and ensure effective management and e-rostering standards are maintained.
  • Act as a role model, mentor, and leader, promoting a culture of learning, development, and professionalism.
  • Ensure the highest standard of care is provided to patients.
  • Lead on the recruitment and retention of staff to the ward and hospital.
  • Undertake clinical investigations, complaints, and HR investigations, ensuring thorough, prompt, and high-quality outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative frameworks regarding the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Deprivation of Liberties.
  • Manage Medicines Management in the Clinical Area or Ward, facilitating competency-based assessments and an open framework for managing medicine errors.

Requirements

  • Currently registered with the Nursing Midwifery Council as a first-level nurse or with the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • At least 2 years' experience in a supervisory capacity within a relevant care setting.
  • Appropriate registration or experience required for the ward.
  • Willingness to complete further clinical, managerial, and leadership training and development.
