About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Underwriter to join our New Business team as a Senior Commercial Underwriter. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating and assessing complex risks across various business classes, including Motor Trade, Farm, Estates, and Commercial Select products. You will also provide technical support to stakeholders across the business and contribute to the development of the department and its processes.

As a Senior Commercial Underwriter, you will work closely with our Agents to build strong relationships and resolve complex referrals. You will also be responsible for delivering short-term and one-off projects and activities. We offer a comprehensive induction program to ensure your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and assess complex risks across various business classes
  • Provide technical support to stakeholders across the business
  • Contribute to the development of the department and its processes
  • Work closely with Agents to build strong relationships and resolve complex referrals
  • Deliver short-term and one-off projects and activities
About You

You will be a Commercial Underwriting professional with extensive new business underwriting experience across a variety of business classes. You will have a strong understanding of property and liability commercial underwriting and be able to demonstrate effective communication skills. You will also have experience of coaching, mentoring, and training colleagues.

Key Requirements:

  • Commercial Underwriting experience within the mid-market space
  • Experience of coaching, mentoring, and training colleagues
  • Confident communicator with experience of leading and influencing risk decisions
  • Ability to make rational and logical decisions in a fast-paced environment
