Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in a mainstream primary school in Manchester and surrounding areas.

About the Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with teachers and specialists to implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and support children in developing daily living skills for increased independence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build a trusting relationship with all pupils and communicate according to their understanding.
  • Collaborate with teachers and specialists to implement IEPs.
  • Assist with classroom management to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Support children in developing daily living skills for increased independence.
  • Monitor and report on the child's progress to facilitate appropriate adjustments in support.
Requirements:
  • A good understanding of the national Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 Curriculums.
  • Willingness and ability to adapt in response to changing circumstances.
  • To be a supportive member of the SEND team.
  • The ability to handle complex and sensitive issues with empathy and understanding.
  • The confidence to evaluate learning needs and actively seek new teaching methods.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK (No sponsorship provided).
