About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead our digital transformation journey and drive strategic innovation across the organization. The successful candidate will have a strong track record in digital leadership, with expertise in information management, data governance, and health informatics.

The CIO will be responsible for shaping our strategic vision for data and digital services, including Core IM&T, Digital Health, Informatics, and IM&T development functions. This role requires a creative and inspiring leader who can empower colleagues to improve staff and patient experience while supporting the delivery of first-class care.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Lead and manage a team of circa 800 staff, with an operational pay budget of circa £30m.
  2. Develop and implement information strategies, leading digital transformation initiatives and ensuring data quality, security, and compliance.
  3. Collaborate with colleagues across the Birmingham and Solihull ICS to ensure seamless user experiences and maximize value from technology adoption.
Requirements
  • Educated to master's level or equivalent professional qualification/experience in IT discipline or similar.
  • Demonstrable professional knowledge in Digital Management, Information Systems, Staff Management, and Project Management acquired through training or experience gained over a significant period to master's degree level.
  • Demonstrable continuing professional development.
