Job Summary

The University of Cambridge is seeking a highly skilled Research Grant Assistant to support the research objectives of the School of the Humanities and Social Sciences. As a key member of the research team, you will provide expert support and guidance to Principal Investigators and Department-based research staff, ensuring timely, accurate, and risk-mitigated research grant applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide financial and administrative support and guidance across the full grants lifecycle to academic, research, and administrative staff.
  • Create and circulate accessible information about grant opportunities, work with relevant staff to support the development of grant applications, and to support grants post-award, maximising income and mitigating risk, using University systems such as X5/Worktribe, CHRIS, and CUFS.
  • Be an excellent communicator with the confidence to relate to a wide range of people and to be an effective team player with a flexible approach.
  • Possess high-level organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to take initiative and prioritise a varied workload to meet deadlines.

About the Role

This is an exciting and varied post primarily dedicated to supporting research grant administration and research-related objectives in both the Faculty of History and the Faculty of Law, whilst also supporting other institutions across the School of the Humanities and Social Sciences as part of a wider, flexible team of School Research Grant Assistants.

The School Research Grant Assistant will work in collaboration with Principal Investigators and project support staff to enable effective and efficient grant management of active research grants across the School.
