Job Title: Senior Contracts Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Contracts Manager to manage the tender process for capital projects, from issue of invitation to tender through to contract award and subsequent commercial management of the delivery phase. This will include management of commercial staff, procurement of essential work scopes, and negotiation of terms and conditions to ensure ongoing value for money throughout the lifetime of the contract.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the tender process for capital projects, including management of commercial staff and procurement of essential work scopes.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions to ensure ongoing value for money throughout the lifetime of the contract.
  • Develop and implement Procurement and Commercial strategies in line with the Capital Projects Governance requirements.
  • Provide robust post-contract commercial management, including negotiation of compensation events and ensuring compliance with the Commercial Manual.
  • Support the Procurement and Commercial Manager in providing a world-class procurement and commercial service.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification and professional membership of a relevant professional body.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Utilities Contract Regulations 2016 and commercial governance arrangements for large capital projects.
  • Experience of estimating, sourcing management, cost and budget management, and contract administration.
  • Experience of drafting and interpreting commercial contracts, including Standard Form construction contracts and bespoke contract arrangements.
