About the Role:

We are seeking a Countryside and Arboriculture Lecturer to join The Bedford College Group at our Shuttleworth Campus. As a Lecturer, you will play a crucial role in the success of our students through:

  • Preparing, delivering, and assessing a range of Further Education Countryside provision and Arboricultural Short-courses.
  • Undertaking course administration, including learner registration, assessment planning, exams entry, and leadership of Countryside Level 2 and 3 courses.
  • Contributing to developments within the Programme Area/Centre.
  • Contributing to curriculum development where appropriate.

No teaching qualification? No problem. As part of your employment with The Bedford College Group, we will enrol you on a teacher training qualification.

About You:

Ideal candidates will have:

  • A degree or equivalent in Countryside Management/Arboriculture or similar.
  • A Level 3 vocational qualification in Countryside/Arboriculture or related equivalent qualification.
  • GCSE Maths and English (grades A – C) or equivalent.
  • Recent experience in the Countryside/Arboriculture industry.
  • Experience as a teacher, trainer, or instructor.
  • Ability to teach students of all ages at various levels of achievement.
  • Ability to communicate effectively face-to-face, on the telephone, and in writing.
  • Current Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends if required.
  • Willingness to undertake staff development, including industry updating and related qualifications.
