Job Title: Contracts Officer

At Barclay Meade, we are seeking a highly skilled Contracts Officer to join our team. As a key member of our commercial team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our contracts database and providing commercial support to our business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contract Database Management: Assist in the establishment and maintenance of our contracts database, ensuring all relevant information is up-to-date and easily accessible.
  • Commercial Support: Provide expert commercial support to our business, reviewing and advising on confidentiality agreements and other commercial documents.
  • Due Diligence: Administer and ensure due diligence activities are up-to-date for Intermediary Agreements, and maintain relevant registers.
  • Contract Review: Review and summarise key contract clauses within existing contracts or new contracts under negotiation, in conjunction with company policies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other business functions to gain agreement on relevant customer contract requirements.
  • Bid Support: Support bids under the guidance of the Head of Contracts & Commercial, completing internal documents to support the internal approval of bids.
Competencies:
  • Time Management: Ability to manage time and workload priorities appropriately.
  • Communication: Ability to liaise and have good verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Education: Degree or equivalent in Law or Business Studies.
  • Contract Law: Contract Law knowledge would be a distinct advantage.
  • International Commercial Awareness: Highly desirable but not essential.
  • Defence Contracting Experience: Desirable but not essential.
  • UK MoD & US DoD Contracts Knowledge: Desirable but not essential.
Key Measures:
  • Commercial Registers: Timely updates to various commercial registers - < 3 working days.
  • Bid Deadlines: Meeting bid deadlines.
  • Confidentiality Agreements: Review of confidentiality agreements - < 3 working days.
