Regulatory Reporting Analyst Role

We are seeking a skilled Regulatory Reporting Analyst to join our Energy Systems Team at Northern Powergrid. This exciting opportunity will allow you to contribute to the company's mission of delivering a power network that meets the region's needs, now and in the future.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the Lead Compliance Analyst in ensuring the provision of accurate and timely regulatory submissions to Ofgem. Your role will also involve extracting and validating connections data to prepare regulatory returns.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support the timely production of regulatory reporting information.
  2. Collaborate with colleagues in other business areas to determine project information.
  3. Maintain accurate data on connections projects within the connections systems.
  4. Support with data extraction and validation routines.
  5. Coordinate the cancellation of projects outside of project milestones.
  6. Data assurance routines in line with Ofgem process.
  7. Development of reports within PowerBi and CRM Oracle reporting tools.
  8. Management of existing reports within PowerBi and CRM Oracle reporting tools.

Key Competencies:

  1. Creation of analytical reports using tools like PowerBi.
  2. Validation of data to aid decision-making processes.
  3. Utilising reporting software to improve outputs.
  4. Strong planning and organisation skills to ensure timely submission of information.
  5. Collaborative work with cross-functional teams.
  6. Maintain data models and reporting systems.

Qualifications and Attributes:

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • GCSE Grades 9 – 4 or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
  • Educated to A-Level or equivalent.
  • Strong IT skills including the use of Microsoft applications specifically Word, Excel, and Visio.
  • Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to details.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and spoken.
  • Experience in the creation of analytical reports using tools like PowerBi.
  • Experience in the validation of data to aid decision-making processes.
  • Experience in maintaining data models and reporting systems.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • NVQ Level 4 or HNC.
  • A strong understanding of the legislation associated with the connections business.
