Head of External Communications and Government Relations

As a key member of the AECOM team, the Head of External Communications and Government Relations will play a critical role in developing and executing the company's external communications strategy for Europe and India. This senior leadership position requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of the media, political, and economic landscapes affecting the infrastructure, construction, and engineering markets.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Communications: Develop and implement a comprehensive external communications strategy aligned with AECOM's regional priorities and brand.
- Government Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with central and local government stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and industry associations to influence policy and regulatory developments.
- Media Relations: Develop and execute a media relations strategy to promote AECOM's brand across national, broadcast, and trade media outlets.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Lead engagement with relevant external stakeholders, including industry partners, non-governmental organizations, and community leaders.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in corporate media relations and government affairs.
- Deep market knowledge and contacts across the media, political, and economic landscapes affecting the infrastructure, construction, and engineering markets.
- Experience managing a team and developing public affairs strategies that influence political stakeholders.
- Proven experience working in communications during major incidents or crisis situations.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and a strategic mindset.
